Mad River Beach, Arcata, California
Mad River Beach in Humboldt is a fairly exposed beach break that does not work very often with no particular seasonal pattern. Offshore winds are from the east. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the best swell direction is from the northwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right. Best around high tide when the tide is rising. Hey this place is dog friendly and is Unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Take care of sharks, urchins, rips and rocks.
