Malibu Pier, Malibu California

"Malibu Pier is a Southern California icon in an area once called the Riviera of America," says State Parks' Director Ruth Coleman. The historic landmark is located in the heart of California's surf culture. Surfers from around the world come to Surfrider Beach adjacent to Malibu Pier, known for its three-point break that offers rides of 300 yards or more. Great fishing on and around the pier. The festive seaside atmosphere of good food and fun is returning to the famous pier. New restaurants offering classic seaside dishes complement the pier's beautiful coastal location and rich history.  Be sure to eat at The Beachcomber Cafe it is a 1940's style American dinner house that offers a vintage Malibu dining atmosphere, menus filled with eclectic coastal dishes and fantastic views of the surf. Go to the Beachcomber Cafe website.

If there is one spot in Southern California that might surpass Beverly Hills in the number of movie stars' homes, it is Malibu.
Robert Redford, Mel Gibson, Barbra Streisand, Richard Gere, Sally Field and Whoopi Goldberg (to name just a few) all own homes along the exclusive Malibu shore.
